What the extension accesses

After you choose Enable offer checks, Personal Saver reads the hostname of the current HTTP or HTTPS website to derive a retailer name. It automatically checks websites as you browse, except sites you hide. It does not have a complete retailer-domain directory, so an unfamiliar website’s derived name may also be sent to the providers.

To keep offer prompts out of login flows, it checks routes, visible login headings/dialogs and the presence of visible password fields locally, without reading input values. To recognise checkout and payment pages, it inspects the current URL and a small set of visible headings and submit-button labels locally. It does not read form values, payment details, passwords or basket contents. Page paths, query parameters and checkout labels are not saved or sent to the reward providers.

Information sent to providers

The derived retailer name is sent directly from your browser to TopCashback UK, Quidco, Virgin Shops Away and British Airways Avios. Quidco also receives a request for the matching retailer page. Each provider receives your IP address, request time and ordinary browser/network request information. Requests made by the extension omit account cookies. We do not run a server to collect these searches.

Opening an offer takes you to the provider’s website. Sign-in, cookies, tracking, eligibility and cashback or points activation on that website are governed by the provider’s own terms and privacy policy. Personal Saver does not automatically activate offers, insert affiliate identifiers or verify that a reward has tracked.

Provider privacy information: TopCashback, Quidco, Virgin Shops Away and Avios. These third parties operate independently and set their own data-retention periods.

Information stored on your device

Local extension storage holds your enable/disable choice, hidden-site domains, any existing retailer-name corrections and up to 100 cached retailer searches. Cache entries include merchant hostnames, retailer names, provider results, offer URLs and lookup timestamps. Results are reused for 30 minutes; an hourly cleanup removes cache entries older than 24 hours when Chrome runs. Entries can remain longer while Chrome is closed. Hidden-site choices and the enable/disable choice remain until changed or deleted.

Session storage holds per-tab/domain reminder flags, last-seen timestamps and a two-hour expiry after you select an offer. This suppresses repeated arrival and checkout prompts. Session data clears when Chrome closes. Chrome tabs and local UI variables temporarily hold the information required to display results.

Your controls

You can hide a site beneath its offers and restore it through the toolbar popup while visiting that site. Open Privacy & controls in the popup to pause checks and delete saved retailer data. This removes cached searches, hidden sites, name corrections and reminder state; only the paused preference remains. Requests already sent cannot be recalled. Uninstalling the extension removes its extension storage. You can enable checks again at any time.

Use, sharing and security

We use the information only to find relevant rewards, display offers and manage reminders. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, run analytics or build a browsing history on our servers. Data is not sent to RK FOUNDRY LTD by the extension. Provider requests use HTTPS. If you email support, we receive the information you choose to include in your email and use it to respond and investigate your request.

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. If our data practices change, we will update this policy and disclose material changes in the extension before applying them.
